The Goddess That Failed To Protect

This piece portrays a story about a goddess, Trochilidae, whose duty is to protect the unique, vulnerable hummingbird species. Trochilidae failed to keep her promise and a hummingbird was killed by one of her own arrows. In this picture, Trochilidae's halo and gown have been tainted by the evils of neglect. Once realizing what she had done, the Goddess weeps for the hummingbird and holds the hummingbird with care; however, her tears are futile for the hummingbird has already passed away. This piece exemplifies the very idea of how art is my means of expression and outlet. This story is very similar to one of my own experiences. I am the hummingbird, and my ex boyfriend is Trochilidae. It sounds cheesy, but this piece really helped me get past a difficult situation.
